The Saint Catharines Saints have made a big acquisition to aid their efforts to win a fourth straight OLA Senior B title and second straight Presidents Cup championship. The Saints got goalie Davide DiRuscio’s Sr B rights from the Peterborough Lakers on Friday.
While he didn’t start their game Friday night against the Sarnia Beavers, DiRuscio entered the game and played the third period, earning the win as St. Catharines emerged with a 10-9 victory.
DiRuscio was named the Canadian Lacrosse League’s top goalie and Most Valuable Player in his rookie season with the Niagara Lock Monsters and helped lead them to the Creators Cup championship. He only played once for the Lakers, shutting out the Six Nations Chiefs in his relief stretch of a 10-5 loss in Peterborough’s second game of the season.
