Saints roll past Oakville 18-7, Improve to 6-0

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The St. Catharines Saints extended their win streak to six games Friday night as they rolled past the Oakville Titans by the score of 18-7 at the Bill Burgoyne Arena.

The Saints led 5-1 after 20 minutes and extended their lead to nine after two periods, which included adding five straight goals, to take a commanding 12-3.

In the third period, St. Catharines would add six more on route to the 11-goal victory.

The Saints Corey Fowler led all scorers with a nine-point performance recording four goals and five assists. Andrew Potter and Chris Janese both contributed with three goals and three assists each. Andrew Tober (2G, 3A) and Dylan Llord (1G, 4A) added five points each. Brad Favero (3G, 1A), Jon Burkholder (1G, 3A) and Chris Attwood (1G, 3A) all registered four points a piece. Rounding out the Saints scoring were Mark Debrone (3A), Tim O'Brien (1A), Ross Smith (1A), Jay Thorimbert (1A), and Grant Crawley (1A).

For Oakville, Cam Monroe added five points collecting three goals and two assists. Connor Latimer chipped in with two goals while Simon Desousa (1G, 2A) and Dan Hamlett (1G) rounded out the scoring with one goal each.

In goal, Jake Henhawk recorded 27 saves for the victory allowing three goals over 40 minutes. Grant Crawley replaced Henhawk to start the third and registered nine saves on 13 shots. Oakville starter Mike Cregan suffered the loss allowing seven goals on 19 shots. Backup Craig Wende, who replaced Cregan early in the second period, gave up 11 goals on 39 shots.

The Saints next action is Friday, May 31st at 8pm when they host the Norwood James Gang at the Bill Burgoyne Arena.
