Saints down Onondaga 12-5 to improve to 2-0 at President's Cup

The St. Catharines Saints improved to 2-0 at the 2013 President's Cup after defeating the Onondaga Redhawks by the score of 12-5 Tuesday afternoon.

St. Catharines trailed 2-1 after one period before answering with seven goals in the seconds period to take a commanding 8-3 lead after 40 minutes.

Early in the third period the Saints would take a 9-3 lead, before closing out the game with three straight goals for their second straight victory.

For the second consecutive game, Saints rookie standout Chris Attwood recorded seven points adding four goals and three assists. Dylan Llord contributed with six points registering two goals and four assists while Andrew Potter added one goal and four helpers.

Rounding out the Saints scoring were Corey Fowler (2G, 1A), Brad Favero (1G, 1A), Jordie Daradick (1G, 1A) and Jason Mazachowski (1G).

Calgary had five different goal scorers and were led by Neal Powless who added one goal and two assists.

In goal, Saints starter Jake Henhawk collected 46 saves for the victory. Ross Bucktooth added 44 saves in the loss for the Redhawks.

The Saints take on the Capital Region Axemen (QC) Wednesday afternoon at 2pm.
