Saints down Six Nations 7-5; lead OLA Sr. B Finals 2-0

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The St. Catharines Saints continued to have success in the postseason winning Game 2 in the best 3-out-of-5 OLA Sr. B Finals by the score of 7-5 versus the Six Nations Rivermen at Gaylord Powless Arena Sunday afternoon.

"We are getting our chances on offense to score and have been able to score when we have needed to in the first two games," said Saints General Managr Dave Colbourne. "Defensively we have been solid with a great team effort and Jake has been exceptional in goal the entire postseason."

 Leading the Saints was captain Brad Favero who recorded the hat trick. Rookie of the Year Chris Attwood contributed with a goal and two assists while Corey Fowler added three helpers. Ian Llord, Blue Hill and Andy Tober all chipped in with single goals to round out the scoring.

For the Rivermen, Delby Powless added a goal and two assists. Wayne Vanevery (1G, 1A), Corey Bomberry (1G), Logan Kane (1G) and Cody Johnson (1G) rounded out the scoring.

Saints starting goaltender Jake Henhawk turned aside 39 shots while adding an assist for his fifth postseason victory.  In five playoff contests, Henhawk has allowed just 27 goals for a 5.40 GAA. Six Nations Angus Goodleaf recorded 40 saves in his second straight loss.

Game Three is scheduled for Saturday Aug 10th at 7:30pm at Bill Burgoyne Arena.
