St. Catharines Saints defeat Sarnia 13-11


  
 
The St. Catharines Sr. B Saints defeated the Sarnia Beavers by the score of 13-11 at home Friday night.

The Saints trailed 3-2 after one period of play and found themselves tied 8-8 after 40 minutes.

In the third period, Colin McDowall would add back-to-back goals to give the Beavers a 10-8 lead. The Saints would answer back with three of their own to take an 11-10 lead with three minutes left in regulation. Sarnia tied the game 11-11 on a goal from Clint Lamarsh with 1:45 remaining.

St. Catharines rookie Dylan Goddard would put the Saints up 12-11 with 45 seconds left in regulation. Andy Tober would add an insurance marker with nine seconds left to secure the victory.

Leading the Saints up front was Chris Attwood who recorded five goals and one assist for the six-point night. Corey Fowler contributed with a goal and four helpers while Brad Favero added a goal and two assists. Rounding out the Saints offense were Jason Henhawk (4A),  Zac Reid (2G), Joel Matthews (1G, 1A), Chris Janese (1G, 1A), Dylan Goddard (1G, 1A), Dylan Llord (2A) and Andy Tober (1G),

Saints starting goaltender Ryan Masters added two assists and registered 44 saves for the victory. Tye Belanger collected 38 saves in the loss for Sarnia.

The Saints return to action on May 25th at 5:00 pm when they are on the road against the Owen Sound NorthStars. They are also on the road May 31st vs Ennismore James Gang and June 1st vs Brooklin Merchants before returning home on June 6th at 8pm when they host Brooklin.
