St. Catharines comes back to edge Ennismore 6-5
The St. Catharines Saints showed they aren’t willing to give up their crown as the best team in the OLA Sr B league without a fight, scoring the only three goals of the third period to come back and beat the Ennismore James Gang 6-5 in a hotly contested game in Ennismore Saturday night. The James Gang had been undefeated on the season, including a win earlier in the campaign over St. Catharines, but now fall to 7-1, still in first place by four points over the Saints. St. Catharines improves to 5-2 and are getting better and better as they get all their players into the lineup. Ryan Masters for the Saints and Cole Murray for the James Gang are two of the top net minders in the league and they engaged in a goalies battle throughout the game. Ennismore led 3-2 after the first period and were up 5-3 after two. They held onto that lead through the first 12 minutes of the third, but then the Saints started creeping back into it. Dylan Goddard scored a pair to tie things up. With a little under two minutes to play, Chris Attwood completed his hat trick to give the Saints their first lead of the game and the most important one.
